LED Versus LCD

By Tony Waza

There is a quarrel about what is the best gaming monitor going around this time. The confusion for a lot of gamers appears to be when the LED monitor was released and available on the market, they thought the merchandise was new. They were hoping it could perform much better in contrast to the traditional style LCD monitor. But many of us don't define the LED gaming monitor as a new product. It is only a LCD monitor that merely relies on a light giving out diode for it's back-lighting.

This is exactly what causes it to be a LED gaming monitor and not the same as the LCD monitor. This is just one of the variations when evaluating it with some traditional LCD monitors that have been using cold cathode fluorescent light as its back light.

Both monitors however were using a liquid crystal in their display sections. Will we say there should not be comparison of these gaming monitors?? As well as maybe the LED versus LCD comparison needs to be disregarded? My thoughts on this are "NO".

Even when both of these monitors are utilizing liquid crystals in their display panels, you will still find other things to consider that could be advantageous when we choose either a LED or a LCD gaming monitor. These facts range from the energy used or energy consumption, the chance of back light bleeding, usable life span and durability. We need to see how they perform with the different sorts of games you're playing too.

If you are looking at energy consumption, an LED gaming monitor consumes a very minimal quantity of energy compared to some LCD monitors. Hence, if you are dealing within a strict budget and are trying to find some choices to take your electricity bill lower, selling your LCD monitors and changing all of them to LED monitors can help your energy bills shrink a little!

Ghosting is sometimes a problem that occurs on your display panel. This only happens when you have been playing on a monitor that has a very slow refresh rate. This situation can ruin your game play and cause you to fail a campaign that you have been playing for 28 hours. In this area an LCD screen has an advantage since it has smaller chance to have back light bleeding or ghosting. In terms of the life span, the LED gaming monitors last much longer then the LCD monitors.

Lastly, we ought to also match our monitor towards the type of games that I will be playing. If you want a good gaming monitor a LED gaming monitor can present you with an excellent ambiance and brightness. But, should you prefer a more dark or more potent monitor, a LCD gaming monitor will suit your needs well.
