Contact Manager: Enhance Community Communications

By Andy Zhang

In today's world, we have surpassed an information explosion, and are entrenched in a communications explosion. Communication spans the globe, with instant messages, email and other communication methods as varied and vast as the numbers of people online. The number of online users has also skyrocketed. In 2000, 360,985,492 people used the internet. Today, as of December 2009, the number has ballooned to 1,802,330,457. Online users are maximizing internet uses, but without a contact manager tool, they may be forging ahead half armed.

Communication and community were behind e-commerce activities on the Online Publisher Associations index of internet activity. Information is booming, communication is booming. Communication in April indexed up, unlike any of the other four activity categories of the Index.

Email software programs that are widely used were communication methods of online users. Voluminous and frequent communication among the billions of online users enhance the appeal of contact management tools for practical reasons. Automation methods provide benefits and troubleshooting for people engaged in communicating with one another from personal to business topics.

In fact, the Activity Index identifies that e-commerce is the primary activity of online users. The internet has opened corridors for billions of business transactions. There are as many and more online opportunities as there are users.

Opportunities to find people and businesses online are a given. There are search engines, search firms, and directories, to find anyone, anywhere, at any time you inquire. However, wrangling the abundance of facts is another matter centered on how best to proceed forward efficiently.

Contact software reduces the waste of time that happens when there is a lack of method to collecting data. Users can standardize and customize what data are needed in their communications efforts. Streamlining an approach and the contents of a contacts list can extend the time dedicated to reviewing information, and making contact with a contact.

Collected information can be archived. A communications record can be developed as a profile for future reference. Electronic storage of information can be used as a work report, or the background forwarded to a sales rep. The data can also be forwarded for personal recommendation, or for any other use. Software for contact management is a technological update to business cards, telephone book, sales history, yearbook, and customer service and sales representatives.
