How to set up a wireless signal in your House

Accessing the Internet without the use of Ethernet cables is possible only with a wireless router. It goes without saying that wireless technology is by far better than having to deal with tangled wires.

You can move freely throughout your home and access the Internet anywhere with your laptop. Freedom to access the Internet while lying in bed or watching TV is so convenient. Each router will come equipped with a standard range of the wireless signal.

There is a wide selection of different wireless routers on the market. If there is anything different between them it would be speed and technology. Due to its outstanding quality, 802.11g is the recommended technology and is capable of handling any computer or wireless device.

When using wi-fi you'll want to make sure your computer or phone supports a wireless signal. There is a chance your computer doesn't support wi-fi so you may need to equip your computer with a USB wi-fi adapter that can pick up the wireless signal.

Every major brand of laptop computer supports a wi-fi signal. Unplugging your modem is the next step in preparing your wireless signal for use.

Next, find the network cable and insert it into the back of the modem. Then run the same cable into the back of the Internet port of the router. Next, you'll need to power up your laptop.

Automatic connection should take place once everything is turned on. The very first time you set up your network, you want to set up your user-name and password to prevent hackers from accessing your signal. Now you're ready to enjoy all the benefits of wireless Internet in your home or office.
