Black Friday has become a tradition in the United States and also in its northern neighbor; Canada. As what many consider as the official start of the Christmas shopping season, the number of people who participate in this day's events are tremendous.



What is the tradition all about?

Black Friday is the day after the American thanksgiving where many stores participate in the tradition by having extremely discounted items for sale for that day only. Many of the stores get very little profit from the discounted items but make more profit overall due to the overwhelming traffic of shoppers on this day. Some of the none retail businesses even give their staff the day to make their Black Friday purchases. Gift items such as electronics and gadgets are the most wanted merchandise on Black Friday because they are great gifts. Many of the shoppers buy all of their holiday shopping needs on this day.

What Preparations should you do?

If you want to join the Black Friday experience this year, you must be prepared for a shopping mob inside participating stores. The lines are long and the things you want to buy may be gone from the shelves fast. Consider these factors when mapping out your day to make sure that you will get the best deals.

Get the money ready

The budget is up to you and the things you need to buy. If you are have specific items in mind, make a checklist ahead of time with the prices to give you an idea of the amount you need to prepare. If you like impulsive shopping, make sure that you set aside an amount for this spontaneity.

Plan what you are going to buy

One trick of planning for the Black Friday is to gather the leaflets that stores give out prior to the big day that show all the discounted items such as black friday laptop deals. This allows you to know where to get the things you want on the big day.

Map out your day

If you want to make your day as time efficient as possible, you must have a plan of the sequence of the stores you will visit. You may not have time to eat so bring food with you in your car. All of the stores open early with some opening as early as midnight; so make sure to start your spree early.
