The iPad is an awesome tool and toy. This device will allow you to take pictures, record videos, download music, browse the Internet, and more. If you don't know what the iPad offers, you'll never take full advantage of it. Keep reading for great iPad tips.

Watch how much money you spend on apps. The convenience of buying apps makes it quite easy to spend a lot of money without realizing it. Therefore, you should closely watch your spending.

Want to be able to find your iPad if you lose it? Go to Settings, then iCloud. Locate 'Find My iPad' at the bottom of your screen and enter your Apple ID. If you ever lose the device, just go to iCloud.com.

Find My iPad is an indispensable feature on the iPad. This tells you the precise location of your iPad and gives you the option of deleting sensitive material contained on your device. It only takes a minute and it will be a lifesaver if your precious device ever becomes lost!

If you want to quickly move between apps without going back to the main screen, double-click the home button and your running apps will appear. Choose the icon of the specific app you want and click. To go back, do the same thing.

Did you accidentally start a noisy app? To quickly mute the iPad's volume, just hold down the volume button. If you need it often, you can set it up so your lock button can also work as a button mute the iPad.

Even if you think this is unnecessary, it is wise to add a security feature to your iPad. You might lose it and people will have access to everything from your emails to your bank information.

Taking screenshots on an iPad is easy. Press Home and Sleep together. The screen will flash and you will hear a click. This lets you know that you've successfully taken the photo. Screenshots automatically go into your photo gallery.

Are you interesting in reading PDF files on the iPad? Just send them to your email and open them on the iPad using iBooks. Another option is to use the iTunes app on your desktop or laptop by syncing your iPad.

There are many preloaded apps that you will probably never use. Unfortunately, some of them cannot be erased. If you find that there are several built-in apps that you aren't using, create a folder to contain them. That way, you can focus your attention on what you actually do use.

You cannot switch from one day to another by switching on the calendar function. You should instead use the navigation bar located at the bottom of the screen to select the date you want to see. The date is always highlighted in blue.

If you see that volume buttons aren't functioning, simply navigate to Settings-General-Sounds. Select Change With Buttons and it will work again. You can use the slider to change the volume, too.

Start using the tips you just read. You will get the most use out of your new iPad if you know about all its features. Be sure to obtain as much information as possible so that you get the most you can from this versatile device.
